Overview: Under the direction of program leadership, the Assistant Teacher–In Training supports classroom instruction, child care, and daily learning activities while completing required training toward ECE certification. Training & Role Enrolled in a 3-month professional development program Complete 60 hours of quality-assured training toward Delaware DEEDS ECE Assistant Teacher Certification Receive supervised, in-class training, mentoring, and coaching Performance is evaluated for potential promotion to ECE Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities Support lesson planning and daily classroom activities Help maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment Assist with child supervision, meals, diapering, and routines Complete observations and support child assessments Follow state licensing regulations and Academy policies Participate in required trainings and staff development Communicate professionally with families and staff Report safety concerns or suspected abuse as required Knowledge & Skills Basic understanding of child development and early learning practices Ability to follow curriculum guidance and classroom procedures Strong communication, teamwork, and professionalism Ability to work independently with supervision as needed Requirements Ability to obtain Delaware DEEDS ECE Assistant Teacher Certification Ability to complete required background checks and health clearances Reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work at floor level Meet annual professional development requirements Education & Experience Minimum: 6 months experience in a licensed ECE setting Preferred: CDA, TECE I & II, or equivalent ECE training
